In the coming years, Finland and Thailand will be cooperating more on the development of telecommunications, information technology and digital technology. Ahead of Thai-Finnish Digital Day on Wednesday August 22, H.E. Mika Lintilä, Minister of Economic Affairs of Finland and H.E. Dr Pichet Durongkaveroj, Minister of Digital Economy and Society of Thailand signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on digital and communication technologies. The Thai-Finnish Digital Day, co-organized by Team Finland and Digital Economy Promotion Agency (depa) brought in Thai businessmen to match with solutions from Finnish companies. The agreement’s aim is to promote cooperation between the two countries and the operating conditions of enterprises reciprocally. It will play an important role in economic promotion, technology exchange, the modernization of economy, society and culture to foster mutual interaction in investment, market expansion and human resource development based on equality and diversity. The signing of MoU has signified for continued strengthening of Finland-Thailand collaboration in the future.
The cooperation between the two countries will initiate a shared knowledge, area of expertise and experience to enhance government and private sectors an opportunity for interactions through meeting arrangement, workshop, seminar, the exchange of good practices as well as country visit. The agreement sets first at 3-year term and will automatically extend at appropriate time. The Minister of Economic Affairs of Finland also took this opportunity to bring businessmen from leading energy and digital companies to meet the Minister of Digital Economy and Society and will visit and discuss on economic collaboration with Thai Ministers of Thailand later on.
